Welcome to RAP
The Malaysia Robotic Awareness Program is a series of program aimed to build up robotics culture towards Malaysian market. Malaysia is currently working on upgrading its technology by implementing robotics technology by means of manufacturing, processing and servicing. Robots are currently produced mainly from developed countries such as Korea, Japan and Europe; have been exporting technologies and implementing robotics technology into the world’s supply chain.
New and developing technologies need a marketing platform to demonstrate the capabilities of their products. Robot is a potential growing market in Malaysia and in need of a platform to boost its marketing and promotion for the country to adopt its technology. Robotic Awareness Program is one of the platforms targeted to boost the market for robotic projects and adoption into various sectors. The program will be held every month starting March 2016 which is endorsed by government and highly demanded by the industries.
The Robotics Awareness Program (RAP) is a series of robotics engagement program that brings together robotics players; the robotics products and services players and market players and end-users, from industry, academia, government and public sectors. Specifically, RAP focuses on Agriculture, SME Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Healthcare, Edutainment and Defense industries to introduce, innovate and adopt robotics technology to the market for the benefit of the Malaysian Economy.
Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) and Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) have been working with Malaysian Robotics and Automation Society (MyRAS) in conducting the program with the support from Malaysia Technology and Development Corporation (MTDC).
The Robotics Awareness Program (RAP) will result in product level innovation and adoption projects with economic impact projects for the export and global network opportunities for RAP members. The RAP is like an exclusive club where all the players, heavily invested in robotics and automation, meet and synergize their resources for the objectives of RAP and their organization for a profit.
The program is conducted once every month throughout 2016. The invited participants are divided into two major clusters which are “Agriculture, Defense, Edutainment” as cluster 1 and “Healthcare, SME, Oil & Gas” for cluster 2. Only one (1) cluster is invited for RAP each month and the clusters alternate after one another such that cluster 1 is conducted in February 2016 while cluster 2 will be conducted in March 2016. The program of RAP are divided into two sessions which are “Robot Innovation and Sharing Session” featured by four (4) speakers from all around the world in the morning and “Working Group” to discuss strategic robotics projects in the evening.
Working closely with its host; MOSTI, MITI, MTDC and MyRAS, RAP have been structured and planned carefully with serious consultation with its host with all the six (6) specific sectors of RAP.
